Chintzy - Silk Scarf
The Chintzy scarf is our ode to all of the National Trust stately homes and gardens that we've visited over the years in the United Kingdom. We are obsessed with the history and the characters that used to live in these amazing houses.
The scarf is built around an imaginary old spinster / Miss Haversham type character ( posh/ eccentric ) - that has let the wildly expensive upkeep of her house go to wrack and ruin over the years - hence the shattering chandelier, cobwebs and spiders and pesky mice climbing the soft furnishings.
The name Chintzy comes from the House and Garden decorating style Chintz - the full-on pattern on pattern of florals and stripes used across the walls, carpets, furniture, bedding - everything!
From original paintings we've created a daffodil print wallpaper, drapes, a Walmsley and Cole family crest and many other elements to create a drawing room.
We love Trompe l'oeil - a painting technique that 'tricks the eye' which is used to decorate the interior walls, cupboards and doorways in grand houses.
Chintzy is a colourful, fun pop of colour!
